Shiny new leaves, rusty old post
Hmm. A friend said I like contrasts like this. I think he may be right. I love the contrast of the shiny leaves, newly opened to the world, climbing up the weathered, rusty post which has been standing its ground since some farmer planted it there so many years ago. It also makes me smile to think about how it appears that the post is sprouting new leaves for the spring!

Keeping an Eye on You!
This is my son’s Buff Cochin pair, standing together. I meant to post this photo on Valentine’s Day, but forgot I even had it.
Bridger keeps them safe, so when they are outside, they are still protected by a welded wire enclosure. He has good reason, as coyotes and raccoons, opossums and foxes, even hawks, owls, and eagles all love a good, fat chicken dinner!
Buttercup does her best to help keep them safe, but as she rides to work with us daily, she is not home during most days – not the most effective security system ever devised!
Still Hanging On
Sun highlighting an oak leaf, still hanging on in late February.
This photo was taken Sunday, a calm, sunny, warm day. Monday the winds howled in, bringing cooler temperatures – and maybe stripping off some of these late oak leaves. I shall have to go back out and see.
