  1. I’ve sometimes wondered why greenbrier thorns are red. Like you, I’ve been fascinated by the way they’re translucent (though it’s hard to get several of them in focus at the same time the way you succeeded in doing here). I recently did a four-part series on greenbrier beginning at

      I also have a translucent, brightly colored greenbrier leaf, similar to one of your shots, which I accomplished the same way, shooting into the sun:
